Who we are

SRD PayDay is an independent information website about the SASSA SRD R370 grant. We are not SASSA. We are not the Department of Social Development. We are not a government body, and we have no partnership with SASSA or the Department.

We help you understand the grant. We explain how to check your status on the official SASSA portal, how payment dates work, how to apply, and how to appeal. On our homepage, you can also use our status check form to check your SRD status. We aim to use plain English and short sentences.

The form has two fields: your 13-digit South African ID number and the cellphone number you used for your SRD application. Press the button to check the status. The ID number and cellphone number are sent over a secure (HTTPS) connection to SASSA's official SRD system only to fetch the status you asked for. The result is shown on your screen and is not kept. We do not store, log, sell or share the ID number or cellphone number, and we do not use them for anything else (no marketing, no profiles). We never ask for a PIN, OTP, password or bank details, and we never ask for money.

This is a static website. It has no accounts and no logins. Our other tools (status explorer, troubleshooter, date finder, appeal calculator, eligibility checker and means test) run only in your browser and send nothing. You should only check your own status, or check with the person's permission. Anyone can check on the official portal instead: https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status.

What we are not

We cannot change your grant record, approve a grant, or speed up a payment. Only SASSA can do that. Our status check form only fetches the status you ask for from SASSA's official system and shows it on your screen. It is not kept. If you need help with your own grant, use the official SASSA channels.

We cannot answer questions about your personal grant record. We can explain public information and show the status that SASSA returns through the status check form. If you contact us, do not send ID numbers, PINs, OTPs or bank details.

How we research and check facts

We use official sources. These include the SASSA SRD portal, SASSA statements on gov.za, and National Treasury. We do not invent facts or dates.

Each page shows an "Updated" date and a page history. We check facts when SASSA announces a change, and at least once a month. If a fact changes, we update the page and record the change in the page history.

How to report a mistake

If you see a mistake, email hello@srdpayday.co.za. Tell us the page and what is wrong. Please do not send personal grant details.

We review every report. When we confirm an error, we fix it and note the correction in the page history.
