This page explains the limits of the information on SRD PayDay at https://srdpayday.co.za. Please read it before you rely on anything here.
We are an independent website
SRD PayDay is an independent information website about the SASSA SRD R370 grant. We are not SASSA, not the Department of Social Development and not any government body. We have no partnership with them. We use the names SASSA and SRD only to describe the grant and its rules.
We are not a law firm or financial adviser. This is general information, not legal, financial or professional advice. For your own situation, speak to a qualified professional.
SASSA's decision is final
SASSA decides who gets the grant and how much is paid. The official SASSA portal and statements are the final source. If anything here conflicts with SASSA, follow SASSA. Always check srd.sassa.gov.za before you act.
Dates and amounts can change. We check facts when SASSA announces changes, at least once a month. Pages show an "Updated" date and a page history. An old page may not show a new rule, so confirm the current position on the official portal.
Status check on our homepage
The homepage has a status-check form with two fields: your 13-digit South African ID number and the cellphone number you used for your SRD application. A button checks the status.
The status check shows SASSA's own result. SASSA's portal and decision are final. If our check is unavailable, use the official portal at https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status.
What happens to the data:
- The ID number and cellphone number are sent over a secure (HTTPS) connection to SASSA's official SRD system only to fetch the status the visitor asked for.
- The result is shown on the visitor's screen and is not kept.
- We do not store, log, sell or share the ID number or cellphone number, and we do not use them for anything else (no marketing, no profiles).
- We never ask for a PIN, OTP, password or bank details, and never ask for money.
- Visitors should only check their OWN status (or with the person's permission).
- Anyone can check on the official portal instead: https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status
Our other tools give guidance only
Our other tools, including the status explorer, troubleshooter, date finder, appeal calculator, eligibility checker and means test, run only in your browser and send nothing. They do not connect to SASSA. They do not check your real status, payment date or eligibility. They give general guidance only. A tool result is not a SASSA decision.
We are not liable for losses
We work to keep information accurate and current, but cannot promise every page is complete or free from error. To the extent the law allows, SRD PayDay is not liable for loss or damage from relying on this site, a status-check result or a tool result. This includes lost payments or missed deadlines. Nothing here limits rights under South African law that cannot be limited.
Links, ads and other sites
We link to official sources such as srd.sassa.gov.za and gov.za. We do not control other sites and are not responsible for their content, security or privacy. Check their terms first.
The site may show Google AdSense ads in future. If ads are shown, Google and its partners use cookies to show and measure ads. Manage this at https://adssettings.google.com and read more at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads. If ads are not shown, this does not apply.

Privacy and contact
We follow POPIA, the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. The site is static. It has no accounts or logins. The status-check form is the only form that sends data. It sends the ID number and cellphone number you enter over HTTPS to SASSA's official SRD system only to fetch your status. The result is shown on the visitor's screen and is not kept. We do not store, log, sell or share these details, and do not use them for anything else.
Our other tools run only in your browser and send nothing. We serve Lexend from our own hosting without a separate Google Fonts request. Our hosting and CDN provider may keep standard server logs such as IP address, time, page and browser for security and performance. If ads are shown, Google and its partners may use cookies as described above.
